Welcome to the 1960s Cinema section of the MrSuperphil Picture House.

The 1960s were a brilliant decade for horror, thrillers, science fiction and adventure cinema. From Hammer Horror and Amicus films to Hitchcock, James Bond, AIP Poe films and unforgettable cult classics, this was a decade packed with style, atmosphere and imagination.

This section brings together my reviews from one of the most exciting and influential decades in cinema history.

This is probably my 2nd favorite decade.  Hammer films, Amicus, and AIP produced some of the best horror films ever.  

Bond movies started with Sean Connery in Dr No (1962). 

Hitchcock made two outstanding films - Psycho (1960) and The Birds (1963).  

Many other classics like The Innocents (1961), Rosmarys Baby (1968), Planet of the Apes (1968), Night of the Living Dead (1968), and many more.

And finally my favorite horror film of all time - The Haunting (1963).
