To be eligible for admission into the SNHS, you must meet the following academic and school requirements:
Successful completion or current enrollment in an AP or equivalent science course
Participation in at least one science-related club or activity
Activities include but are not limited to summer programs, internships, advanced science fair work in an outside lab, etc.
These activities must take place outside of the normal school day.
Take Science courses during all four years of high school
Maintain at least a B+ overall average (3.3 unweighted) in all science classes
You must also display the following civic requirements:
Promote science literacy
Express and maintain social and ethical behavior that follows the guidelines set forth by Somerville High School and the Science Department
If inducted into the SNHS, you must meet the following criteria to maintain your membership through to graduation:
Complete 10 hours of community service related to the sciences in your senior year
Maintain at least a B+ overall average (3.3 unweighted) in all science classes
