Final Paper Due : March 8th (paper turned in via Digital Portfolio)
First, you have to get a partner and navigate to the sample papers on the College board website. Record which papers you use as examples for this assignment.
Select a LOW scoring paper from the 2016 or 2017 sample papers. Read ONLY the section you are wanting to analyze, then use the academic paper rubric to deduce why this paper was given a low score
Next select a MEDIUM scoring paper from the 2016 or 2017 sample papers. Read the same section in that paper and now deduce and record both WHY it received a middling score but also WHAT are the main differences from the LOW scoring paper.
Finally select a HIGH scoring paper from the 2016 or 2017 sample papers. Again, read the same section from that paper and deduce and record WHY it received a high score but also WHAY are the main differences from the MEDIUM scoring paper.
After all steps are done you may then read the score report for the papers to see how well you and your partner did.
Use these guides for your academic/expert advisor, peers, teachers, or anyone else to help provide quality feedback for your Research paper's individual sections.
First, get a partner to work with and find a unique sample paper from the 2018 and 2019 papers. Record which papers you use for this assignment. You will be using the academic paper rubric for this assignment.
Using the rubric, grade the paper using each of the rows. Give an estimated score for each of the rows AFTER reading the corresponding sections.
Give an estimated score (preview score) for the paper in its entirety
Exchange papers with another group (do not give them your preview score)
Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the new papers
Discuss the findings with the group. What scores did you give the first paper vs the other group, why? What were the differences in your scores, why?
Finally, look to see the actual scores posted by College board and the read the description of why it received that score. Discuss.
Below is a three part video describing the process of the literature review.
