Janusz Korczak’s Primary School Number 3 is situated in Slupsk, in the north of Poland. It's 20 kilometers far from the Baltic Sea. We are one of the biggest schools in our town, with more than 600 students at the age 5-12 and 55 teachers. There are two buildings for younger and older students, two gyms, a playground, a large sports field and a canteen. Our institution is equipped with three computer labs and one multimedia classroom. We offer a variety of extracurricular activities, for example music, drama, art, science, dance, sports, IT classes. We want our students to improve their skills and broaden their interests. The students study English obligatorily from the beginning of their education and some of them also have German lessons.In our school we also realize a lot of projects granted by our government like:

- Catch the wind in Pomeranian sail of knowledge - The project aimed at raising the awareness of young people a passion for sailing, development of key competencies such as mathematical , scientific - technical, social , civic , initiative

- Delimitation of crime and anti-social behavior project ‘Together safe’

- ‘I know, I can’ - The main objective of the project was to improve social skills and the prevention of socially unacceptable behavior among the students of our school

- ‘Consciously and safely in a primary school number 3 in Slupsk’ - The main objective of the project was to prevent violence

- ‘Safe and friendly school’ - ‘Remove the bike from the basement’ - Objective of the project was to encourage children do some sports especially cycling.

Our school is a dynamic institution, open to new initiatives broadening its educational offer. Some time ago we noticed that our students spent too much time using technology in an unproper way. During the school breaks they didn’t talk, just played gameboys or checked their social media profile in their mobile phones. It was the main area of their interest. We would like to teach them how to use ICT for effective learning and looking for information. We started doing this last year when we took part in the national program „Digital school”. It’s a program that develops students’ and teachers’ ICT competences.

There are four components of the program:

- e-school: new computer equipment for primary schools

- e-student: purchase of some IT tools for students to use at school and at home

- e-teacher; ICT trainings for teachers and coordinators

- e-books: free class books for schools

Thanks to that program we broadened our educational offer and what is the most important – the students could learn how to use ICT effectively. This year our school started a new program called „ Coding champions”. Students use SCRATCH -a free educational programming language- to program their own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share their creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. They do this during the extra ICT classes.

We are also constantly expanding the base of computer hardware (computers, projectors and interactive whiteboards) . The school staff often undertake initiatives to increase students' interest in the subject, to improve teaching results and develop students' passions.

The Erasmus+ project is focused on improving ICT skills among students of different subjects, as well as increasing the level and attractiveness of using technology for learning. Students will be able to enjoy a range of interactive exercises and online tools. Furthermore, interested and talented students will be able to take part in competitions, international ICT games and projects, as well as in co-creating different e-materials.

The specialist courses, based on improving the ability to use modern information technology, will help to teach effectively and to motivate the students in today's rapidly changing world. It will also improve English language skills, increase the participants' and the school’s involvement in e-Twinning, in order to benefit from training and workshops for teachers, to exchange experience, to broaden networking opportunities and to communicate with foreign schools.

In order to run the project smoothly, the project team has appointed the school coordinator, the deputy and the persons responsible for: ICT classes, organizational matters, evaluation and for language support.

Because of the diversity of graduated schools and teachers’ general education, our team includes experience in several areas.
