Report Italy 2th LTTA

March 12th

Teachers and their students arrived at Naples International airport and then they transferred to the hotel on Vomero hill to meet Mrs Emilia De Angelis and some other Italian members of the project as well as the Italian host families.

In the evening they could share a good dinner in a small restaurant with Mr. Ederoclite and Mrs Lo Cicero representing the “Cuoco-Schipa “ School.

1st day, March 13th

The first day of the Italian meeting started early in the morning at 8.30 at Cuoco School, where a special welcome ceremony took place. The City authorities and Mrs Angela Longo, our school principal, delivered their speeches to welcome all the foreign guests. Then some old and best known traditional Italian and Neapolitan songs and music were played by the school music band. Afterwards the students and their teachers did a tour of the school and they watched some little show specially performed by the primary school pupils. Foreign guests could even see how a pizza is cooked live. A tasty coffee break at 11.30 was enjoyed by everyone before moving to the Schipa, the Secondary Junior School. There the international group met the Italian teachers and students and could see how the ordinary study activities are carried out in the classrooms. At lunch time the whole group could enjoy very typical and good homemade food cooked by the host families.

After a free afternoon they had dinner in a cosy restaurant in the hotel nearby.

2nd day March 14 th

From 8.00 to 11.00 in the morning all students worked together with project activities at Schipa School. After a tasty coffee break the whole group moved and pay a visit to our two other primary schools “ Cairoli” and “Carducci”, which are located in the nearby. Then at lunchtime pupils went back to their host families to have their meals while the teachers enjoyed some local food in a very typical small restaurant close to Schipa school. In the afternoon everyone could spend some free time having some shopping in Vomero, where later on they had dinner too.

3rd day, March 15th

After doing the project activities until 11.00 a.m., the foreign group enjoyed a very interesting guided tour (in English) in the old National Archeological Museum. They had a fast lunch at Burger King and after that a guided tour through the Metro Art Stations ( Università and Toledo ) where they all could have a look at many contemporary work of arts made by some Italian and international artists. In the evening teachers spent some free time.

4th day, March 16th

The fourth day started at Schipa with project activities. After a coffee break teachers and students were taken by their Italian secondary school mates to the historical district in Naples downtown. There they could see many oldest landmarks and churches such as “ Santa Chiara”, “ Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo”, “ San Domenico Maggiore “ and so on. In the meanwhile they also could taste a very good pizza for lunch. In the evening, after going back to their hotel, the teachers had dinner in Vomero.

5th day, March 17th

The last day of the Italian stay started with final project works at school and with the host teachers responsible for the Erasmus project delivering the Certificates to the international pupils. At lunchtime the whole group, accompanied by Mrs Bellomo and Mr Piazzola from the Schipa School, went to Pozzuoli by coach to visit the Solfatara Volcano and the Serapis Roman templum. In the evening the students shared their last Italian dinner with their host families while the teachers enjoyed a tasty meal in a typical restaurant and say goodbye to Mrs Longo and the host teachers.
