Report of the 2nd Learning, Teaching and Training Meeting in Poland

MONDAY, 15.05.2017

Today our school accepted 12 foreign students and their teachers. The programme started early in the morning. First Mrs. Anna Łukasik spoke about the events that took place throughout the week. Our culture was presented to them with some help of our students – the guests listened to Polish school choir singing and watched the primary school theatre

The ceremony was recorded and tramsmitted in Słupsk local media.

Students and teachets from Turkey, Germany and Italy visited the polish school and listened to a lecture about the system of education in Poland.

Later the guests took part in Polish and maths lesson. We played an interesting game there, which confused our brains a lot. The students could learn cooperation and improve their language skills. Pupils and teachers could get to know the work of the hosting school.

After a break for a small snack students presented their Power Point presentations about themselves. They spoke about their families, hobbies, likes and dislikes. By the presentations they could learn and improve their English language and expand their knowledge about different cultures.

The day was finished with a lunch prepared at out school canteen.

TUESDAY, 16.05.2017

We started the day with the project activities. Students were divided into four groups of students. In each group there was a student from every country. The task was to create a poster of the most common phrases in English, Turkish, German, Italian and Polish. Students wrote them and tried to learn their pronunciation. The activity helped students to integrate and cooperate with each other. Students from Turkey, Germany and Italy had a chance to tell us more about themselves, their countries and their schools.

After a snack break we started visiting Moving Sand Dunes in Slovenian National Park. Moving Sand Dunes are the world famous attraction at the seasite. Pupils saw the most beautiful places of Slovenian National Park and got familiar with its fauna and flora.

They took photos which will be used in Erasmus+ Corners.

WEDNESDAY, 17.05.2017

As yesterday pupils started with sharing and exchanging their abilities on ICT work and integrating them into a real school lesson. The product of their work was a team work Power Point quiz about students’ national languages. This will be the added value of their courses which were held at partners’ schools.

By the presentations students learnt and improved their English language as well as partner schools’ national language. They also expanded their knowledge about different cultures.

In the afternoon students learnt a traditional Polish game – Hare and Hounds. Students and teachers were divided into two groups and played a racing game played in the near forest. It gave students a chance to build good friendships. When they will come home will demonstrate the games to their peers and play them. They also learnt some simple words of other nations. After the game there was time for a picnic and a bonfire with roasting meat and sausages. Those activities facilitated the recognition and validation of knowledge, skills and competences acquired through formal and non-formal learning.

THURSDAY, 18.05.2017

Since the early morning we discussed about the games and activities. Students prepared the games and rules for the demonstration on the playground.

Pupils learned new games from Italian, German and Turkish players and had a chance to build good friendships. When they come home they will demonstrate the games to their peers and play them. They also learned some simple words of other nations.

Those activities facilitated the recognition and validation of knowledge, skills and competences acquired through formal and non-formal learning.

In the afternoon there was a sightseeing tour in Słupsk. Pupils visited our city, got to know something about the history of the town, see the most famous buildings and go up the tower in theCity Hall. They took photos which will be used in etwinning and facebook websites.

FRIDAY, 19.05.2017

In the morning we summarized the whole week work and gave certificates to the participants. Later the trip to Ustka was planned. The city is both both a spa city and the municipality in Pomerania in northern Poland which is part of the administrative district of Slupsk.

It is situated at the mouth of the River Slupia with the Baltic Sea and it’s a seaport and seaside resort.

After coming back, all the participants took part in the dinner with the teachers from The Polish school. For teachers it was a chance to talk and discuss some issues with a nice and friendly atmosphere and for students to play all together and say goodbye to each other.
