ESCALERA EL CONCHERO

En los trabajos de excavación realizados para la construcción del actual Malecón Simón Bolívar se encontraron estas escaleras que fueron construidas en el sector denominado El Conchero o barrio de los marineros. Eran utilizadas por los comerciantes de la época para embarcar y desembarcar todo tipo de mercaderías que llegaban o salían de la ciudad, sitio de comercio fluvial que tuvo la ciudad.

In the excavation work carried out for the construction of the current Malecón Simón Bolívar, these stairs were found, which were built in the area known as "El Conchero" or neighborhood of the sailors. They were used by the merchants of the time to embark and disembark all kinds of merchandise that arrived or left the city, a site of river commerce that the city had.
