INGREDIENTS
500 grams of finely ground sticky rice (also called glutinous rice flour)
½ teaspoon of violet food coloring (optional, for color)
Hinti' filling (you'll need to follow a separate Hinti' recipe for this)
Banana leaves
Toothpicks
Water (for steaming)
PROCEDURES
Get the leaves ready: Find some medium-sized, flat banana leaves and set them aside.
Make the dough: In a bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour with water until you can knead it into a dough.
Shape and fill: Take a small piece of dough, flatten it on a banana leaf, and put some Hinti' filling in the center.
Wrap it up: Fold the dough over the filling, roll it slightly to make a log shape, and use a toothpick to close the open end.
Steam time: Put the wrapped Putos Patani in a steamer and cook them for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
