This information relates to features that require an internet connection. The following features are affected: Extension Conflict Scanner, Details Page, Cloud Sync, and Marketplace.
modcore itself does not collect or store any personal data. All core features of the modcore Extension Manager are designed to function locally on your device, ensuring your privacy remains fully protected.
Certain modcore features require an active internet connection to function properly. These features may need to fetch data—such as extension metadata, updates, or other content—from external sources.
To achieve this, modcore sends secure API requests to GitHub’s servers, which host the necessary data for these features.
While modcore does not collect or transmit your personal information, GitHub may collect limited technical data (such as your IP address or request metadata) as part of its standard API usage.
To minimize this exposure, modcore employs a secure infrastructure within the modcore Extension Manager that:
Reduces the amount of identifying data sent in requests
Caches retrieved data locally on your device for a limited time, reducing the need for repeated API calls
Makes tracking by external services like GitHub significantly more difficult
All cached data remains on your computer and is automatically refreshed or deleted after a certain period.
If too many API requests are made within a short time frame, GitHub may temporarily rate limit your connection. This means some online-dependent features of modcore Extension Manager may stop working until the limit resets.
This is temporary and usually resolves automatically after a few hours. During this time, local features of modcore Extension Manager remain fully functional.
