• We wake up at 6.50 after hearing Gareth get up and use the bathroom. He heads back to the bedroom and myself and Dylan get up from the spare room.
• It's Pokémon videos on YouTube and some quiet chill out time to wake up.
• Gareth gets up at 7.30 as we sit and eat breakfast. We have also only had 2 mornings since October started that it has been cold enough to put the heating on for a short while, so with the current energy crisis, it's good news for us. While it's 13c outside the temp in the living room shows 18c.
• By 8.05, everyone is dressed and fed. Hurrah!
• Dylan is ready to go and as soon as the 8.20 alarm went, we were leaving.
• We wait on the corner for Dylan's friends, and we all walk together. As I get closer to the schools I put my mask on. There is a slight issue with Dylan and his Eevee plush. One of the teachers brings it down for me and at 8.50am I begin walking home, carrying Eevee and his scooter.
• As soon as I get through the front door, I plonk the scooter down, walk through to the utility room to pick up my shopping bags and straight out the back door. I pop round to see mum and then we head out to Asda in my car.
• We are going through the check out after 10, (we do scan as you shop so no queing for us!) and then end up driving to Farmfoods as with the current issues with shops receiving deliveries the frozen section is super sparse in Asda (luckily I get some fresh goods that I end up freezing such as pancakes and English muffins in Asda). I get Iron Bru for Dylan to try after appletiser last week but that's it, and mum gets quite a few bits.
• It's then home, putting shopping away and then it's straight back out at 11am with dad this time to visit nan.
• We have a long chat and visit and then we head back home. I'm getting in at just gone 1pm - I throw some laundry in (Dylan took gold cola up to the bedroom to watch telly and spilled it all over our bed sheets so I had to strip most of it off. I finish off changing the pillow cases which didn't get anything on, but I chuck a wash on while I can. It won't be going on the line as it has been spotty rain this morning and I don't want to risk it.
• I sit down, catch up on day in the life recording and eat some sizzling steak wotsits and a caramel biscuit and watch Amy Gretchen's latest "Done by December" video on YouTube.
• I get the email I have been waiting for from the charity commission, so I immediately get on to our group WhatsApp chat and upload the constitution to our Google Drive folder and the parentkind account.
• Before I know it, it's 3pm and I got to head out on the school run! I feel like I blinked and my entire day has whizzed by!
• After a short discussion with mum about quorums, I head out on the school run with Eevee and Charizard in a bag while pushing the scooter.
• We wait for Dylan's friends again and I read the letter given to me by school - Dylan has had 3 days off with the stinking cold that was going round and we all got mid September. They claim Dylan's attendance is "unsatisfactory".
• We saw them off to their main door and headed home ourselves. Dylan requests something from the local bakery which has been refurbished. I decline. He gets home and tries some Iron Bru which he likes! We head to show my mum the letter from school then come back home. Dylan watches Miraculous (season 4 is being released slowly on Disney+) while I try to find out about a quorum. Gareth reads the letter and is fuming and takes it with him. Mum had got my washing which had finished while I was out and put it on the washing line.
• I'm doing some more research on a quorum and do a little happy dance when I finally figure out why some PTA's quorum is so large but we won't have that problem as our constitution states "3 people are required for a quorum"
• I quickly warm up the cottage pie for Gareth as he says he needs food and is leaving the house at 5.20pm. Try and remember to remind him to have a mask with him, and decide to hold off starting our dinner until he has gone. Dylan starts watching Addams Family (the animated one)
• I tidy up the kitchen a bit and get the dishwasher on. I keep an eye outside on the weather by 5.09pm as it is a bit dark outside. I have some tealights going in the fireplace. I also purchase for $5, the december daily prep day party class on Ali Edwards website. While I don't always get to participate live, I still watch it over the weeks afterwards plus it comes with downloads and is always well worth the price!
• I finish up on the computer as Gareth leaves. I start cooking some honey roast parsnips for Dylan with half a chicken breast to go with some ham in a sandwich (?? I dunno!)
• Once Dylan's food is done, I start on mine - left over cottage pie with peas, beef gravy and a Yorkshire pudding. Mum takes my washing off the line and I get the protector on to the airer but the rest of the bedsheets and Dylan's hoodie blanket (which he put on backwards last night to eat his dinner and dropped a ton of it in the hood to go with all the stains that are already on the front...) into the tumble drier.
• I eat my dinner and by this point it is now 6.30! Myself and Dylan have some frozen raspberry ripple mousse for dessert.
• Mum brings Dylan's hoodie blanket over (she put some stuff in her tumbler too) and he snuggles down in it.
• 7.20, myself and Dylan head up to the main bedroom. He watches "mighty magiswords" on YouTube kids and I just browse the December Daily Facebook group.
• 8.10 still chilling out on the bed. It's currently Amphibia for Dylan and I'm browsing the news and happy that I'm not in work til 7am - that hour makes all the difference! I'm on til 2pm which is odd but I get to have a 5 hour shift on Sunday, so yay! I set a reminder to wash school uniform as soon as I get home (and debate about putting it in the machine before I leave and putting a timer on it to finish before I get home...) If I was on a 6am start, I'd need to be going to sleep at 8.30.
• Gareth gets home about 8.30 and we end up carrying on our game of "guess that computer game tune" as a family. Dylan gets sent to bed at 9.20. I continue playing with Gareth for a while longer but I absolutely need to get to sleep. I head off for the spare room, get the bed out before being joined by Dylan quietly as I have exactly 8 hours before I have to get up at 5.50am.
