Key responsibilities include:
Legal and Policy Oversight: Ensuring the organization operates according to its bylaws, articles of incorporation, and applicable laws.
Personnel Management: Appointing, supervising, and, when necessary, removing officers, agents, and employees; setting duties and compensation as appropriate.
Organizational Supervision: Monitoring and evaluating the performance of officers and staff to ensure duties are carried out effectively and ethically.
Governance and Meetings: Holding regular and special meetings as required, maintaining proper records, and ensuring decisions are made collectively and transparently.
Communication: Keeping contact information current with the secretary to ensure receipt of official notices and maintaining open channels of communication among board members and with the school community.
In essence, the board functions as the governing body responsible for the strategic, legal, and operational stewardship of Mistwood Educational Center.
Board meetings are held biannually in July and January
