The Ascendant Canopy
In the final stage of this transformative journey, the adolescent reaches upward like a maturing tree pushing up over the fog belt of middle school and forming its canopy. The adolescent integrates all previous experiences to form a confident, resilient self. The focus is on achieving balance, self-mastery, and preparing for the broader challenges of adult life.
Students in group 5 are activity working toward their graduation requirements. They not only take a leadership role in their educational path, but now are the driving force behind it. Many have a specific goal or plan by group 5 and teachers are there to support that. Others still need to have a broad plan that can take on any path in the future.
