Class Struggle Orientation
BLURB: Unions are one of the only working class institutions we have and therefore are the most powerful tool for creating change on behalf of working class people. Therefore unions should be championing demands that support the needs of the working class as a whole. Unions should be a bastion of promoting democracy, promoting class consciousness, and fighting authoritarianism. Unions can and should play a political role in our society addressing a variety of questions that affect the working class. Working people should have control over the decisions that impact us. We aim to build a movement in Minneapolis that puts more political power in the hands of working class people and their institutions. For example, working for universal healthcare, free college and debt forgiveness is something that would benefit the working class as a whole.
