I am a learning experience designer. I believe everyone has the ability to learn when their skills, knowledge, and motivation are considered before a learning solution is designed. I believe anyone can learn if they are provided with the right tools, environment, time to practice application, and supportive feedback. My purpose in the field of instructional design is to inspire learning. I search for ways to work with stakeholders to identify the root of their organization's performance problem(s) and instructional needs; I also strive to help learners discover a growth mindset, encouraging them to pursue learning experiences that relate to their interests and current career goals.
I am ambitious, creative, and social. My ambition led me to an eLearning certification program that focused on corporate instructional design. I discovered editing and authoring technology tools which enabled me to expand my creativity and incorporate advanced skills into my instructional design process. The experience set the foundation for my professional network, which I refer to as my “ID Tribe.” I have developed relationships with industry influencers, aspiring instructional designers, college professors, and potential employers.
Currently, I work as a remote Instructional Designer alongside subject matter experts to design eLearning modules for undergraduate and graduate students at a university in Texas. Occasionally, I am a freelance Instructional Designer working with the Instructional Design Company to curate content, develop multimedia, and design eLearning modules. I’m also launching the Mindset To Learn Podcast focusing on a learning and development theme to engage listeners in current trends that encompass the L&D field. Ultimately, I’m striving to become a public speaker. To me, there’s nothing better than being in front of an audience discussing a topic with a passion that invokes audience engagement and at the end of the day, positively influences their lives.
Above all else, the purpose of this website is to illustrate a glimpse of my professional personality and to pique your interest in my instructional design abilities.
