Tripod
Ryan Heise's proposal in December 2002
Michael Gottlieb's first proposal of the idea in 2008.
Michael Gottlieb adds a page for the Tripod method to his site.
Before this, he talked about the method numerous times.
A website had been created before by Jack Eisenmann.
Michael Gottlieb states that he had the idea on his own.
I considered the possibility that maybe Michael Gottlieb created the Tripod page on his website to describe the method that Ryan Heise had proposed. But this post shows that Michael Gottlieb had the idea on his own and was unaware of Ryan Heise's post. This message by Michael Gottlieb wasn't a reply to any such question. It is a reply to a topic on speedsolving.com about yet another proposal for this method.
It is interesting that both Ryan Heise and Michael Gottlieb proposed the same method with the same name. Maybe it is a natural idea to see the shape of the unsolved pieces and call the method Tripod.
