Matthew 9:9-13
Jesus Came for Sinners
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"
12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Jesus came and dwelt among us...We who are sinners is who He came for...So since He knows the world in which He entered and knows the heart's of the men and women around Him...He knew and knows the world was and is not pure in heart, and He directly eye-witnessed those things...There was no perfection or perfect man around Him...And He knew this would happen...He was among sinners, and He admits He came for sinners...He asks us and teaches us to desire the mercy and forgiveness of others...Perfectionism was not what He was looking for...No, He came to earth looking for sinners...
Since Jesus was the Perfect Man and would live and teach among sinners, we can see that when He entered the world, it was out of LOVE...
