Using the image to the left, have the students cut along the dotted lines (or cut them into the 7 sections ahead of time). Younger students should name the resulting shapes: Square, Triangle, Parallelogram. Challenge the students to play around with the shapes. Can they use two triangles to make a square? Can they make a rectangle? How many other things can they make? A boat? A House? A cat? A bird? What else? Can they put all 7 shapes back into the square it started as?
