Optical tweezers (optical traps) are a technique to trap a small object, which is basically implemented in a solution. In general, it is challenging to trap an object in the air and so requires know-how. In our optical system, anyone can easily trap particles. Remarkably, there are many interesting phenomena in the optical trapping of microparticles in the air, which cannot be seen in a solution.

光ピンセット（光トラップ）による微小物体の捕捉は、基本的には液中で行われます。空気中で行うのは非常に難しく、ノウハウが必要です。うまく設定すると、誰でも簡単に捕捉できます。空気中でのマイクロ粒子の捕捉においては、液中では見られないような興味深い現象が多く見られ、これによって新しい光ピンセットの展開が見られると思います。
