Mapleton Elementary School in Mapleton, North Dakota, serves students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. The 2016-2017 enrollment was eighty-eight students. Kindergarten had two sections with grades one through six having one section each. Our school provides students the opportunity to learn in small class sizes with the largest classroom having sixteen children. Having a small student to teacher ratio allows the individualized attention that so many students need. Mapleton, which is eight miles west of West Fargo, is a rural community with less than 1,000 residents. The town is rapidly growing with many new houses being built in the last five years. Many families choose to live in the smaller community of Mapleton and work in nearby Fargo and West Fargo. The school passed a bond referendum in March 2016 to build a new school for the 2017-2018 school year. With the new building will come up to date technology which will help the library program and the whole school.
