I looked at group 9 project for this weeks Project review. Group member: Brent Yurek, to me this project provided real good functionality and details based on the requirements of this project. Looking at the front cover of the book, for me the book looked really empty in that the models were so few as it was for only one person, so the requirements were so little for one person. What I didn’t like was that the augmented reality button really only worked if you held your hand there and really got tiresome. I also didn’t really understand the character that came out of the augmented reality button as it was an object. However, on the requirement of the animation I really liked the fact that the lightbulb was swinging back and forth, it gave the scene a bit of a more eerie look to it as well as it being a second light source making it more realistic to the scene. Some of the three dimensional models really didn’t clarify things in the book like the plunger or the snowman. The sound effects were pretty good playing in the acceptable tone. I liked how the three dimensional text was much clearer and more colored better than my project.
Now looking at the back cover Brent made much improvement in the implementation of the button press leaving it to be that if the button is pressed it will stay on the reviews until the user selects the info button again. I also like how clean and well displayed the text are that makes it really legible for the reader. The video could have much less lighting in to almost too bright at some points in time. One thing interesting that he did was add information about the author of the review which makes it so much more personal.
Overall, I think this was a really good project with a few questionable choices but overall conveys the necessary information needed to not only know what the book is but almost bring you to its world. With a more centered idea and a few more models it would almost certainly be a best seller in my eyes.
