Week 5

I looked at group 5 project for this weeks Project review. Group members: Mark Chen, Frank Buttafuoco, Justin Donayre, to me this project was really detailed and had really detailed models to it. For a group of three I thought the amount of overcrowding of models was going to be a big problem, but this group not only satisfied the requirements of the project but even made the models align well enough to tell a story. Another thing they did on the front cover that I thought they did extremely well was that they scaled each model perfectly to the point that one house model looked like it had all the features already inside but actually had multiple models inside of it and positioned them perfectly well. What I notice that they did different then what I did was that they didn’t have two light instead they had one light source over the book and had their specific models like lamp post and stuff emit light sources themselves.

I think this is really good idea because one that is incredibly immersive giving the user the ability to look at the cover be alive, another thing is that it is much better to have the model emitting the light because it doesn’t shine to much on the models blinding everything including the textures. Now looking at the back cover the three members did something different then what my group did. They added cubes to each review so that the background of the review would be readable and display the rating system better.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with this project and the level of detail that went into each model and its textures. Making it more lifelike definitely added more creativity and immersion to it. Making small models emit small amounts of light sources definitely added more to the already detailed texture to the model. Its animations of the samurai mixed with its sound adds a level of immersion that explores that childhood thought of samurais and etc.
