In one of my classes during my college career, I created a work-based learning plan. In this unit, we were able to listen to a few guest lecturers discussing state-specific requirements and liability, and legal issues. This was a great opportunity for me to better understand work-based learning as a whole. This plan helps create sustained, meaningful interactions with industry and community professionals that will foster in-depth, firsthand engagement with certain tasks required in a given career field. This bundle of information has experiences aligned with national, state, and local standards. Different materials are inside this bundle, which include a variety of agreements between schools, businesses, and guardians. Also, there is a reflection for students and a paper I wrote about work-based learning. These links address access, selection, liability, supervision, rights and responsibilities, safety, transportation, learning objectives, and student evaluations. Work-based learning is such a great opportunity when done safely and is intentionally aligned with each student’s education and career goals. Overall, this bundle is a great show of standard eleven because of its variety in materials.
