Professional responsibility is a life-long process that develops as we gain more knowledge about things like legal issues, Indigenous recognition and understanding, and creating an inclusive environment that will allow us to have good relationships with colleagues and students. All these important traits I am starting to learn and these will progress as I move through the next four years of my schooling and into my teaching career.
Planning for learning means taking the time to understand the student's individual needs and differences to create the most inclusive teaching environment. It also means setting goals for program outcomes and creating lessons that will further develop the learner to their full potential.
Facilitating learning means always continuing to grow your knowledge as a teacher and taking into consideration how the curriculum continues to grow and change. Then take this information and demonstrate that knowledge through your practice.
Assessment means using varied methods of assessing to identify where the learner is at and what they need to improve on. Then taking that information to create assessment strategies that help the student not only memorize the material but truly understand it as well.
An inclusive environment is one in which the teacher has taken into consideration the student's individual needs and backgrounds when planning each day so that the students have an opportunity to succeed. The environment we set out for our students must take into consideration culture, race, ethnicity, background, religion, gender, and many other aspects of what makes each student unique.
