KS1 analyse and discuss the changing relationship between the media and audiences
KS2 analyse and evaluate the extent of the influence of the media and audiences
KS4 analyse contemporary evidence, arguments and ideas to explain the influence of media and agency of audiences
OVERVIEW & AIMS
If you unfollow a celebrity > posts won’t appear on your feed, but content can still indirectly show up on the main feed. It doesn’t significantly impact a content creator’s reach.
If you block a celebrity > cuts off all interaction > leads to a decreased audience size > makes the social media algorithm deprioritise their content. Further impacts how content is shown to non-followers
The Blockout began on the 9th of May 2024 and was sparked by the Met Gala, where celebrities paid $75,000 to attend in support of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in NYC. Many attendees became the initial focus of the Blockout.
