Welcome to Middle School!

What are the benefits of being a middle schooler?

• Variety of Teachers:
  Students get to learn from different teachers who specialize in each subject, making classes more interesting and allowing them to experience different teaching styles.
  
  

• Mixing Up Classrooms:
  Moving between classrooms gives students a chance to meet new classmates, make more friends, and learn how to be independent and organized.
  
  

• Fun School Events:
  Middle school often includes special events like dances, pep rallies, and dress-up spirit weeks that build school pride and create great memories.
  
  

• REACH Trips and Field Experiences:
  Students get to go on exciting REACH field trips that reward students for being  Loyal PROUD and showcasing the various characteristics of a Loyal student.
  
  

• Exploring New Classes:
  Middle school offers electives like art, tech ed (shop), Spanish, careers/technology, finance, and agriculture, giving students a chance to discover their interests and talents.
  
  

• More Responsibility and Independence:
  Students start managing their own schedules, assignments, and lockers—important steps toward becoming more responsible and confident.
  
  

• New Friendships and Community:
  With more students from different elementary schools coming together, middle school is a great place to meet new people and build lasting friendships.

Navigating Middle School Schedules

6th grade: 

• Music/band meets every day - if you are involved in both, your teachers will determine how they meet

• Phy ed & study hall rotate every other day, click HERE for a schedule

• Exploring Classes switch halfway through each trimester, so they will go to each exploring class for 6 weeks. When looking at schedules, whichever class begins with section 1 they will start with, and switch to section 2 halfway through.
