Exhibition "We Today", October 10-21, 2024.
The aim of the exhibition is to present the current work of artists associated with the Poznań District of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers.
The artists individually chose the topics that are currently most relevant to them. Each day at the exhibition there was one of the artists with whom the audience could talk, listen to their tour: each of the participants of the exhibition told more about their works.
"The over one hundred-year history of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers in Poznań shows the significant role of painters, graphic artists, and sculptors in the visual and cultural landscape of our city.
Artists associated with the Association of Polish Artists and Designers presented their works at hundreds of exhibitions in Poland and abroad, national competitions, presentations in galleries, clubs, and cultural centers. Their achievements were documented by both the Board of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the Arsenal - Office of Art Exhibitions in Poznań. It also collected the achievements of artists. Works by Poznań residents can be found in the National Museum in Poznań, the Polish Army Museum, the Museum of Independence, and decorate city offices and other institutions in Wielkopolska. Monuments in Poznań were created by sculptors associated with the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. The history of the artists and their work was recorded in the catalog of the jubilee exhibition "100 years of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers in Poznań" published by the Association of Polish Artists and Designers in 2011.
That is why we say: "We today". And this is the title of the exhibition at the Jesuit Gallery.
We, artists, present diverse works, diverse work techniques and themes of works at the exhibition. Many of us studied at the Poznań art school, today the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts, various disciplines of fine arts. We stick to our artistic work, so individual for each artist, and we want to present it.
The exhibition allowed us to present artists from Poznań, co-creating its high rank of cultural life. It is impossible to discuss the work of individual artists. Each of them expresses themselves in their own individual language of visual arts.
We are active and present at the exhibition at the Cultural Integration Center in the "Jesuit Gallery" in Poznań, whose Director Father Jacek Wróbel SJ opened the hospitable historic gates for us." - artist Jan Malik
