Subjects and Predicates

Subject: Subject is a word or a group of words, denoting a person or thing, of whom or which something is said.

Eg: Ratul is a good boy.

I have a car.

The mango is yellow in colour.

Cars have four wheels.

Predicate: Subject is a word or a group of words, denoting what is said about the subject. It must contain a finite verb, expressed or understood.

Eg: He is working.

Ranjan is a student.

The dogs are eating.

The book is on the table.
