An interjection is not properly a parts of speech, since it does not enter into construction of any sentence. And since an interjection is a part of our speech, this is why it is called Parts of speech. An interjection is a word that is used in an exclamatory sentence.
Eg: Ah! Alas!(grief); Hurrah! (joy); Oh! (a call); Bravo! (approval); Hallo! (a call);Alack! Hush! Woe! Tut! Tut! (disgust or contempt); Pish! (disgust or contempt); Etc.
