* Def:- Words are divided into eight classes according to their use or work. These eight different classes are called Parts of Speech.
* Eight classes of Parts of Speech:-
* An introduction:-
i) Noun: It is the name of any person, place, thing, quality or anything.
Eg: Rakesh, Boy, Country, Honesty, Wood, Iron, Boyhood, etc.
ii) Pronoun: It is the word used instead of a noun or a clause.
Eg: I, We, You, He, She, It, They, Myself, etc.
iii) Adjective: It is a word that describes a noun or a pronoun.
Eg: Good boy, intelligent girl, black dog, beautiful flower, tasty food, etc.
iv) Verb: It is a doing word or a word that describes an action or the state of an action.
Eg: Ram is walking; I was sleeping, Dogs bark, Sun shines brightly, etc.
v) Adverb: It is a word that describes how a work (verb) is completed.
Eg: He talks loudly, Hemanth was running very fast, He happily does his
duty, Soham smartly overcame the situation, etc.
vi) Preposition: It is a word that sits before a noun or noun equivalent to show its
relation with the other words of the sentence.
Eg: On, In, Under, beside, above, with, after, to, of, for, from, etc.
vii) Conjunction: It is a word that joins two or more sentences or phrases or clauses.
Eg: And, Or, But, Because, Either --- Or, Neither--- Nor, Also, As well Otherwise, While, Since, etc.
viii) Interjection: It is a word that expresses sudden feeling or emotion.
Eg: Ah!; Hurrah!; Fie!; Bravo!; Hello!; etc.
