Def:- A sentence is an arrangement of a group of words that gives us a complete and logical idea about anything.
Eg: I am a boy.
The boy is going to school.
What are you doing?
What a beautiful place!

Types:- Sentences may be divided into five classes. They are as follows:
a) Assertive Sentence: The sentences that make a simple statement are called Assertive sentences.
Eg: Rahul is a good boy.
My favorite flower is rose.
I like to play cricket.
b) Interrogative Sentence: The sentences that ask questions are called Interrogative sentences.
Eg: How are you?
Where are the books that I gave you?
Are you coming to the party?
c) Imperative Sentence: The sentences that expresses order or request or suggestion, are called Imperative sentences.
Eg: Get out of the class. (Order)
Please give me a glass of water. (Request)
You should study hard to pass the exam. (Suggestion)
d) Optative Sentence: The sentences that expresses wish or pray are called Optative sentences.
Eg: May he passes the exam.
May his soul rest in peace.
Lord, thy will be done.
e) Exclamatory Sentence: The sentences that express sudden feeling or emotion, are called Exclamatory sentences.
Eg: What a lovely place!
Alas! He has lost the match.
How loud he speaks!
Fie on you!
Oh lord! Punish him for his sins.
