Generation Genius (K-8)
A new tool for teaching Science and Math
Generation Genius is a K-8 teaching resource that brings school science and math standards to life through fun and educational videos paired with lesson plans, activities, quizzes, reading material, and more. Lessons are standards-aligned.
Learning happens best when kids are actively engaged and interested. So the Layers of Learning curriculum is made up of hands-on activities and real books, not textbooks. Packed with information, every page is lined with sidebars that are designed to take you off on tangents learning about interesting people, exploring the web, engaging in creative writing assignments, and layering your basic learning with related subjects.
What's Included? History - Science - Geography - Arts
We searched in vain for comprehensive programs that would take our kids from 1st grade through high school in these subjects. We love doing these subjects as a group, all ages together. Every unit includes a complete section on each of history, geography, science, and arts. All of these subjects are covered thoroughly, yes, even for high school, in our curriculum.
Covering the outer reaches of space to the tiniest microbes in our bodies, Science Friday is the source for entertaining and educational stories about science, technology, and other cool stuff.
For 25 years we’ve introduced top scientists to public radio listeners, and reminded them how much fun it is to learn something new. But we’re more than just a radio show. We produce award-winning digital videos, original web articles, and educational resources for teachers and informal educators. We like to say we’re brain fun, for curious people.
All of our work is independently produced by the Science Friday Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the public’s access to science and scientific information. Public Radio International (PRI) distributes our radio show, which you can catch on public radio stations across the U.S.

Home Science Tools is a resource for parents, teachers, and kids who want a better hands-on science learning experience.
Making science hands-on and easier to do can have a significant impact for the future. As Frank says, "Our purpose at Home Science Tools is to provide families and schools with the tools they need to give their children and students a superior science education. We believe our service is helping to develop today's kids into the faithful and competent scientists, medical professionals, engineers, and teachers of tomorrow." Over the past 20+ years we think Home Science Tools has enriched the lives of well over 1 million kids through a better hands-on science learning experience.
The hands-on nature of the ELEMENTARY (K-3rd) version of Exploration Education not only develops a student’s interest in the world around them but also establishes a solid foundation for all future science courses. The lessons and directions are both written and narrated to facilitate learning for those students working on their reading skills.
The STANDARD (4th-6th) version is presented in a straightforward, easily understood, and hands-on manner. Real-life projects built by the student make scientific principles tangible and concrete. Not only do the students learn and retain the information, but they will also find themselves enjoying and succeeding in science.
The ADVANCED (7th-10th) version builds on the foundation of the standard version, expanding it by adding 72 lessons and 3 additional projects. This course establishes a strong understanding of physical science. It introduces the students to the foundational concepts of high school physics including how to follow an accurate lab write-up.
Bright Hub Education strives to be a part of your educational process, as you journey from young child to young adult, from beginning teacher to accomplished educator, and from new parent to experienced caregiver or homeschool provider. At Mystery Science, our mission is to help children stay curious. Young children love to ask questions. They’re naturally curious about the world: “Why does it get cold in the winter?” “Why do we need to cook our food?” “Why are flowers so colorful?”
At Mystery Science, we believe that if you take a child’s questions seriously and help them to investigate, their natural curiosity will develop into a scientific perspective on the world. This ability to think scientifically is fundamental to any career or subject a child chooses to pursue as an adult. It's the ability to look at a question or problem, systematically investigate and collect evidence, and come to an independent conclusion. This is why our mission is to help children stay curious. We believe teachers and parents deserve better resources to help children investigate the mysteries of this endlessly fascinating world!

OCEARCH is a data-centric organization built to help scientists collect previously unattainable data in the ocean while open-sourcing our research and explorations. Open-sourcing and inclusion at every level, and in real-time, allows the world to participate in our projects while being aware of the developing science.
Science Buddies mission is to help students from all walks of life to build their literacy in science and technology so they can become productive and engaged citizens in the 21st century. We have created personalized learning tools, over 15,000 pages of scientist-developed subject matter (including experiments based on the latest academic research), and an online community of science professionals who volunteer to advise students. We also provide resources to support parents and teachers as they guide students doing hands-on science projects. Representing much more than a website, Science Buddies quickly and efficiently matches students with the information that will hold their interest and answer their questions. We provide a bridge between scientists and students, giving students access to current scientific research and simultaneously giving scientists a way to reach out to young people interested in their fields.
John Muir Laws - Train your mind to see deeply and with intentional curiosity, and the beauty and wonder of the world will open before you. Keeping a journal of your observations, questions, and reflections will enrich your experiences and develop gratitude, reverence, and the skills of a naturalist. My work is to share love and connection to nature through art and science and to offer support and guidance on this path.

Gemkids would like to introduce you to some of nature’s most beautiful creations. We hope to give you a glimpse into how gems form, how they are crafted into beautiful objects, and give you a sneak peek into the history of some of the world’s rarest treasures. In doing so, we hope you’ll learn to love gemology – that’s the science of gemstones - as much as we do, and appreciate the unique beauty of gems. We’re a school. We’re a laboratory. Teachers, scientists, librarians, writers, photographers, and many others work at GIA all over the world. Our purpose is to study gems and jewelry, and to teach about them – so that everyone can be informed.
People come from all over the world to study at GIA. Many want to work in the gem and jewelry industry. We teach them how to identify and evaluate gems. And we teach them how to design and make jewelry. Our library is the largest gem and jewelry library in the world. We have over 38,000 books on gems and jewelry, with the oldest book dating back to 1496. We also collect and preserve mineral specimens, jewelry, gem art, and gemological equipment.
