This is Maddie's directorial debut in animation.  While she has experience directing shows for the stage and directing a trailer for a pitch- this is her first (able to be publicly viewed) time stepping up as a director. 

While she'd love to share with you the super-awesome-animated-trailer she directed, it's currently a part of a pitch that she's presented to Netflix, Paramount, and soon to be another studio she can't name. Can't show that for now! 

Maddie wanted to test her creativity working with big ideas in a limited space. Tackling the first episode to set the tone, along with it being the Kaiju episode , was a challenge but one she ran into head-first! Setting up what it would look like for the team to work with future directors.  Was it our first pancake? Yes. Is it still enjoyable? Absolutely. 

Hot off a great run for her short RED - Madison quickly volunteered to come direct EP 103 & 105 for the Liminal Summers Team.  A smart clever young director to keep your eye on, Madison jumped in to show what a true leader and visionary looks like.
Even when she got hand-picked to direct another upcoming project, Madison balanced Liminal Summers between her time on set. She made sure to focus on the artist's growth and opportunities to expand the story - never taking her eye off the ball!

Madison & Maddie worked together at Netflix Feature Animation- having loved working with her there, Maddie called up Mel to see about her interest in coming to direct to give the rest of the team another directing perspective and experience in different leadership styles.  So far? It's working GREAT!
Beyond her coming in to help the team- she gets to  step into two vastly different styles- a zombie themed episode and an anime themed episode! 

Nikki's previous work includes writing, directing and animating their senior thesis "Melted," which was selected for Best of Ringling in 2020. After graduating, Nikki worked at Netflix Animation as a story artist and revisionist. This is Nikki's first time directing an episode!

Nikki first joined Liminal Summers as Story Lead. Directing episode 2 will give Nikki leadership experience with the entire animation pipeline! In episode 2, Nikki is bringing their love of classic comedy tropes to the surreal world of Liminal Summers.

By day, Ethan Tanti is a Director's/Producer's Assistant in animation. But by night, he steps into the director's chair himself. He's got a darn good eye for storytelling and knows how to pull heartstrings in his shorts.
And as a fan of Indiana Jones and Animation- he's the perfect candidate to take lead directing EP 104 - Quebec Smith & The Adventure of Riddles & Danger: A Quebec Smith Mystery!
