Kevin created Quebec Smith with the idea that he'd be a recurring character to interrupt Terry & Red's lives with wild adventures. 

He's the Canadian version of Indiana Jones and while exploring the character, the team took all the characteristics of the lovable Jones- threw him in the dryer and shrunk him a bit, and made him a bisexual Canadian king. Maple leaves and all.

Through the casting process, Ethan and Maddie explored a variety of voices. Aged, younger, copies of Harrison Ford, Canadian accents... but nothing was quite perfect. 

Until Elan. 

Elan Garfias stepped in the booth and suddenly Quebec was alive. With absolutely no real Canadian accent, and more of a Benoit Blanc than Indiana Jones approach - we found it worked. In all aspects it should not have worked, but it worked! 

With Quebec being a bisexual king, we had a lot of fun exploring what his different lovers would look like. 

We started with a gag where it'd be a large crowd of lovers we'd never actually see and we ended with a more refined take of lovers, giving a nod to the Indiana Jones characters. 

We also wanted to give a nod to the voice actors, incorporating details from them into the designs!

MaryAnne (Marion) is a tough adventurous type. Voiced by Kendell Byrd, she's the first lover to grace our screen. She's also the toughest and the nod to the most beloved love interest of Indiana Jones. 

The team wanted to give a nod to Kendell's iconic braids with purple dye, making MaryAnne feel like Kendell. 

A nod to Willie Scott, Nikita brought her own Indian heritage to the designs of Millie Scotch. In the Indiana Jones franchise, a lot of Willie's costumes were influenced by Indian patterns and draping. Nikita took it and ran with it, creating the elegant and mesmerizing Millie.

Sal Ah was the next fun character to create. Nikita created a spunky, tough, and romantic character for Quebec to fight with. 

Jessica needed a two part design: 

One to be confused with a man, another to be a beautiful intoxicating woman. 

Nikita brought both to Jessica- an ambiguity that worked for the story while alluding to an alluring person under the heavy coat.
