“My spare time involves homework, so it’s not fun to go home every night and do that every night after working all day, but it’s temporary and I'm really excited to get my Master's Degree under my belt!”
She sits at her piano, singing and conducting her students, Kaia Monson beams listening to her students harmonizing their voices. From a young age, she knew that this was what she wanted to do, teaching choir was what she was meant to do.

Growing up around music with her mother being a choir director and her vocal teacher, she knew that it was a given that she would pursue something involving the art of music.
Starting her first year at Loveland High School (LHS) in the fall of 2022 she is learning to balance many new events such as the fall, winter, and spring concerts, Pasta Premivara, Christmas Caroling, and the Singing Valentine’s., In January, she supported students in a statewide choir event in Greeley called Honor Choir. She is also directing the musical, The Adams Family for LHS. On top of all that she is currently working on her last year before receiving her Master's Degree. Monson stated, “Time management has been really rough for me, finding time for myself because I’m currently working on my Master’s Degree at CSU”.
Monson's experience at LHS has been wonderful. She shared, “The community has been incredibly supportive of the arts here and it’s been awesome. The students have been very welcoming and warm and willing to take risks, and learn new things”.
After interviewing Monson I will say she is an extremely kind woman who is passionate about what she does and cares for the students she works with.
