What a view!! This is a new house built on the outskirts of Yea with the most incredible view into the distance. The owner has great plans for the property with Goats, Alpacas, an Orchard and Vegetable garden.

The house site required a deep cut into the hillside down to the bedrock layer in the soil. Along with retaining the cut, the drainage at the back of the house was critical. I also needed to take into consideration room for vehicle access to the garage in this area and entrance to the house. Equally important was how to 'soften' this hard area with some greenery. We solved this with a stunning 30m curved stone clad wall with a dry creek bed running along the base, soon to be planted out with grasses and sedge plants. The planting uphill will also help achieve this with some plants cascading over the wall. The landscaping construction on this project has been beautifully executed by Itec Earthworks.
