CATHEDRAL GOLF COURSE - THORNTON

With a spectacular backdrop of the Cathedral Mountains, members cabins have an incredible view over the 18 hole golf course.

Tucked into the Thornton hills, these member retreats have been beautifully built by Hedger Constructions. With such a stunning natural location, the main focus in this design was to make the natural landscape the focus. Working with clay and rock layers, and with limited tank water, landscaping here requires one to collaborate with nature, not against it. We have also had to consider the 'locals' being the Wombats and the Deer who wander in and eat whatever they like at night. Using indigenous planting and as much hard scape as possible has been the approach. Some things have been lost to animals, but slowly things are developing and a garden is taking shape.
