I grew up in rural Victoria, where much of my childhood was spent exploring the bush and enjoying the freedom of living in the country. After leaving school I discovered adventure in the outdoors and then worked in Outdoor Education where I continually witnessed how powerful it was for people to feel a connection with natural spaces.
After having my own children, I returned to study and graduated from Burnley Horticultural College, Melbourne University. My love of the outdoors has continued to be reflected in my design work, where I aim to create spaces that are not only beautiful but encourage a connection with nature and are individual to each situation. I mainly use natural materials and plants suited to the local environmental conditions. The outcome is a garden that not only meets the clients’ needs, but also has meaning and helps create a ‘sense of place’.
