A&M Consolidated Prom 2019
What is A&M Consolidated High School Prom?
This is a question that has a similar response to what I explained in the Delta Gamma Semi-Formal description. The title is of the event tells us that this was an amazing High School Prom! Prom's are meant for celebrating the year for high school students, especially the seniors, as it is close to graduation time. This event was simple and fun with snacks, dancing, and high school students getting hype on the dance floor!
My Role
My role for this volunteer experience is exactly the same as it was for the Delta Gamma Semi-Formal the night before. Before the event started I spot sweeped and helped with last minute setting up. During the event, I mainly helped with trash management, kept people from accidentally going into places they are not allowed to be, and checked bathrooms. After the event, I helped with spot sweeping and cleaning up all the trash from the event.

What did I learn?
The main thing I learned from this event was to be prepared to adjust to the client's wants/needs if you feel they can be accomplished effectively. For example, during this event, the client really wanted certain string lights on the ceiling to be moved and turned off, but she did not tell us until 2 hours into the event. What ended up happening is one of my coworkers had to take a ladder into the middle of the dance floor with 300 high school students, climb up, and rearrange the lights while the dance was going on. To us event planners, this small detail seems minuscule, but to the client, this small detail can make or break an event. I have learned that as an event planner always do everything you can to please your client (within reason, of course!).
