Responsibilities

The Assistant Events Manager aids Events Manager in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:

  • email coorespondance
  • administrative work
  • venue touring and sales
  • building and maintaining client report
  • event management, as assigned
  • employee management, during assigned events
  • floor plan generation
  • assist in setup and logistics
  • other projects as they occur such as preparing for annual bridal shows or events manager showcases

Requirements & Qualifications

  • good time management
  • be able to communicate clearly and concisely
  • be able to be on your feet for multiple hours
  • work well with a team
  • be able to work Excel, Gmail, and Microsoft well

Achievements

Because of this internship I was able to gain special skills that can be easily translated to future careers in the event industry. For example, I learned how to work with special software for making contracts, floor plans and email correspondence. I have also developed more confidence in how I clearly communicate directly to clients about finances, rules and regulations. I have had to work with the sheriff department for some events as well as bar management. I have also come to understand all the practicalities of wedding planning/coordinating and all that entails. I feel this internship has given me a deeper and broader perspective of this industry.
