Make your image now 2-3 x hd format depending on the need of your zoom
Using textures.com collect images and paste into and place on your image - don't worry too much about illusion of space at this point - just get an over all texture to allow for physical depth
KCAD has an account for textures - get that from your instructor.

Use hue sat adjustments and curves to adjust your tones and colors to match your initial sketch
get illusion of space in value by having light in the background and dark in the foreground,
Color is highly saturated in the foreground and low saturation in the background.

Use brushes to blend edges, use smudge tool set to smudgy nice at 30% to blend edges
Try to get the photo edges to work with each other so it does not look like a collage.
