I don't help after the environment.
As waste continues to grow accross the world, reducing the amount of rubbish in the environment becomes an ever growing necessity.
Beach clean ups are important!
Oceans in particular require much needed attention due to the dangers imposed by excess waste on marine life.
Coastal regions and supporting waters employ million (28) people for a clean environment.
Tourist attractions are located along costal regions.
Rubbish can land on our plate!
Various levels of marine life consume human disposed trash. When we catch and consume these fish, we are also ingesting some of the plastic they consumed.
According to a study in Belgium, it is estimated that the average seafood consumers eats 11.000 micro fragments of plastic annually, which can accumulate in our body and have varying health issues.
Rubbish travels!
A plastic wrapper dropped in the parking doesn't stay there for long. With wind, it gets washed through storm drains into rivers and out to sea.
Scientists estimate that almost 9 million tons of plastic litter (rubbish) end up in the ocean every year. This is the equivalent of five grocery bags filled with plastic rubbish sitting on every foot of coastline around the world.

Some people drop rubbish on beaches.
Some people drop rubbish in rivers.
And then rivers take the rubbish to our beaches.
Some people drop rubbish in the sea.
And then the sea takes the rubbish to our beaches.
In the UK, every year, there is a day when thousands of people volunteer to clean beaches. It's called "The Great British Beach Clean".
