Discuss Unit 7: Inventive Writing
Keep your assignment in the letter format, writing in the first person (narrative)
Choose 3 topics, 1 for each of your body paragraphs
Complete a conclusion and an Introduction for your letter.
Discuss Writing tool "SEE"
SEE is a technique to help you expand on your basic statements by giving more details in the following sentences. If "S" stands for statement, use at least 2 "E"'s to follow that statement. Choose from a number of E words we went over in class: Example, Explain, Expand, Experience, Elaborate
Use Brain-Helping Questions to help brainstorm what to include in your letter (p148). Use sensory details to "show" your reader, not just "tell" the reader.
Introduction: Hook, background info, state 3 topics, transition to body
Conclusion: Restate 3 topics, Most memorable or significant & why, clincher
