Today we reviewed some simple machines. Then we watched a short storyreading about Rube GOldberg. The students were then broken up into groups to create their own rube goldberg machine that will squirt lotion into someone's hands.

You may choose your own task for your machine to complete for your drawing/video. Some ideas are: applying a band-aide, open an umbrella, zip a zipper, pop a balloon, break an egg over a frying pan. There are many idea on you tube!

We began mapping and time-lining the issue of slavery and events leading up to the civil war. This activity is taking much focus, concentration, peer-help, and listening skills from all the students. They did well today, and we will continue and finish this activity next week.
