This morning we introduced the idea of atoms. Most of Module 3 is introducing the history and the development of the discovery of atoms. There are a lot of names and different ideas/theories that go along with this module. Please don't over-concern yourself with trying to understand all of it. We are going to be focusing on the atoms, their structure, and their place in the periodic table. This is why there are a couple of days in the module we will be skipping. However I've added some videos to help with understanding the readings and summarize some of the history. I hope they help.

Today, the students continued working on their regional group project. This is the last week we will be working together on that. Students will have a personal 13 Colonies project due in 2 weeks. They have a choice of creating a poster, a travel brochure, or a google slide show/power point to present to the class. This week at home they will continue in their textbook lessons learning about the start of the conflict with Britain. Next week we will have a tea party as we review and explore how the Boston Tea Party played a role in America's history. Please be sure your student brings what they volunteered to bring.
