Ready to Learn and Play Educator Training
I was involved with the ready to learn and play educator training. This training was with the schools occupational therapists which emphasizes 9N) collaborates with other teachers, students, parents or guardians, specialists, administrators, and community partners to enhance students’ learning and school improvement. Ready to Learn and Play is a four phase framework that unlocks the mystery behind sensory-based behaviors and facilitates appropriate sensory-regulation strategies using a hands-on approach to learning which utilizes evidence-based teaching approaches from behavioral psychology, education, and occupational therapy theory. This training session with occupational therapists focused on collaboration with various sensory needs for our students to enhance students' learning and school improvement which was highly beneficial.

9B states, "knows laws and rules (e.g., mandatory reporting, sexual misconduct, corporal punishment) as a foundation for the fair and just treatment of all students and their families in the classroom and school." Earning a Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Certificate demonstrates my understanding of laws and rules related to child welfare and protection, which is crucial for ensuring fair and just treatment of all students and their families in educational settings. Familiarizing myself with mandatory reporting laws that require educators to report suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities. I learned how to recognize signs of abuse or neglect, including physical, emotional, and behavioral indicators, to ensure timely intervention and support for affected students and families. I understand confidentiality requirements, reporting protocols, and my role in collaborating with child protective services and other agencies to address concerns effectively while protecting students' rights and privacy.
