WHAT IS HORMONE YOGA THERAPY?
Hormone Yoga Therapy (HYT) is a set sequence of dynamic yoga postures, dynamic breathing techniques, Tibetan energy techniques, and yoga nidra. It balances hormones naturally and holistically, focusing specifically on the ovaries, thyroid, para-thyroids, pituitary and adrenal glands. HYT is based in science and physiology without the side effects of Hormone Replacement Therapy and was created by Dinah Rodrigues, a Brazilian psychologist and yoga therapist.
WHAT CAN HYT HELP WITH?
PMS, Peri/Premature/Menopause, Fertility Issues, Polycystic Ovaries (PCOS), Forms of Osteoporosis, Incontinence, Thyroid Problems, Hair Loss, Dry Skin, Acne, Brittle Nails, Carpal Tunnel, Prolapse, Skin Tags, Body Hair, Hot Flashes, Genital Dryness, Sex Drive, Weight Management, Digestion, Energy Levels, Anxiety, Foggy Brain, Sleep, Feeling Grounded, Happiness, Emotional Stability, Reactivity, Clarity, Confidence, Immune System and so much more.
WHY IS IT DIFFERENT THAN OTHER DYNAMIC YOGA PRACTICES?
Hormone Yoga Therapy is put together using a specific sequence of dynamic yoga postures and strong abdominal breathing which stimulates and activates the glands through massage and compression. We then move the energy using Tibetan energy techniques and reinforce the physical work. The results aren’t the same if you skip some of the steps or exercises.
WHO CAN PRACTICE HYT?
Every women 18yrs and older. If you don’t have any symptoms, this practice may prevent them! Please see the list of contraindications in the section below.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PRACTICE AT HOME?
It will take you approximately 25-30 minutes, 5-7 times a week, once you have learned the technique.
CONTRAINDICATIONS

You may need to consult with your doctor before joining HYT classes.
*If there are contraindications, you may still be able to practice, but with modifications specific to your situation.
Below are the conditions that are true contraindications. You can not practice HYT with these:
Hormone Dependant Breast Cancer (and other hormone dependent cancers)
Pregnancy- You can practice after 6 months of having the baby or with doctors permission to proceed with regular exercise. HYT can help with breastfeeding!
Diastasis Recti- you can practice only if it is healed.
Advanced Endometriosis (medical permission needed if it isn’t advanced, please contact me prior to registering as you will need to also work with your doctor.)
Recent Eye Surgery (concern is increased ocular pressure, we invert and we retain breath)
Glaucoma/Detached Retina
Serious Osteoporosis
Fibroids/Myomas over 3cm (medical permission needed for small fibroids, under 3cm)
Appendicitis without the appendix being removed
