Just as a classroom teacher would model and teach safe and appropriate school behavior, so must an online teacher. Online teachers must teach students to behave ethically, legally, and safely both explicitly and by example. Teachers should teach and follow copyright and fair use guidelines. They should teach and demonstrate good digital citizenship. They specifically discuss academic integrity and class expectations. Online teachers need to monitor student interacting and correct inappropriate interactions.

During my course work for the endorsement program, I studied fair use, copyright, and cyber-bullying. I learned about signs to look for to identify these trouble areas and considered how I might handle various scenarios.

As evidence that I have met this standard, I'm attaching a paper that I wrote on copyright and an action plan that I created for dealing with a possible cyber-bullying situation.
