Online teachers must be able to create learning experience for students that are promote deep and meaningful learning. They must be able to foster communication and collaboration between students and instructors and they need to be able to deliver learning opportunities in multiple modalities. Finally, online teachers must be masters of their content areas.
During my time in the endorsement program at Millersville, I had the opportunity to create a short fully online unit. Within this unit, I was able to create a sequence of learning experiences that were scaffolded appropriately to help students successfully learn a new skill, solving problems using diagrams. The unit offered students the various ways to interact with information and to share what they learned.
As evidence of meeting this standard, I have provided access to the online unit that I created as well as uploaded my teaching certificate proving that I have the credentials required to teach mathematics. To access the course, one would need to join schoology and enroll in my course using the access code D3788-GB95G. I've also included a screenshot to give you an idea of the layout and types of activities that I included.
