After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Manyara with lunch boxes provided by Janibichi Adventures Hostel for a game drive in Lake Manyara.
Manyara Region derives its name from Lake Manyara, one of the major lakes that were formed in ancient times by the Great Rift Valley. It is the only region in Tanzania that is divided into two parts by the Great Rift Valley. Lake Manyara is a significant water source for wildlife and plays an essential role in the ecosystems of Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Tarangire National Park. Additionally, Lake Manyara is the largest breeding ground in the country for tens of thousands of flamingos.

After breakfast, we will drive to Serengeti National Park with lunch boxes for a full day game drive.
The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania was established in 1952. It is home to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth—the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The resident population of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and various bird species is also highly impressive. There's a wide variety of accommodation options available, from luxury lodges to mobile camps. The park covers 5,700 square miles (14,763 square kilometers), making it larger than Connecticut, and typically, there are only a couple of hundred vehicles driving around the park.
Embalakai Camp is situated in a breathtaking location along the Nyabogati River, allowing our guests to completely immerse themselves in nature with a diverse range of Serengeti birds and wildlife in the vicinity. After breakfast, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with lunch boxes provided by the lodge. We'll descend to the Crater floor for a half-day game drive and then in the afternoon, drive back to Moshi.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area spans an area of 2,286 square kilometers and includes the volcanic region surrounding the Ngorongoro Crater, which encompasses the still active volcano Oldonyo Lengai and the famous Olduvai Gorge. The centerpiece of this area is the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken caldera in the world. The first sight of it is truly breathtaking.
The floor of the crater covers an area of only 100 square miles but is home to approximately 30,000 animals, with a high concentration of predators. The crater supports a diverse range of wildlife, including around 25,000 large mammals. Grazers such as zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, and wart hog dominate the landscape, with wildebeest accounting for nearly half of the animals. Some animals, like giraffes, stay away from the crater because there isn't enough food at tree level, and topi avoid it due to direct competition with wildebeest. An interesting fact about the crater's elephants is that they are predominantly males. Breeding herds, which include a large number of females and young elephants with a few older males, are likely unable to find sufficient quality food in the crater.
