In middle school I also created numerous works of art, including a banner for our schools auditorium. to represent our class.
I grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts where I fell in love with designing and building things. I had my first project in 6th grade in Mr. Kelly's makerspace class, where I carved a wooden spoon for my parents. I also took robotics classes where we built and coded lego robots using LEGO Mindstorms. I made an all wheel drive, all wheel steering vehicle!
When COVID 19 hit and we were all bored inside Mr. Kelly told me about the LEGO Digital Designer, an application that would allow me to design lego models before buying any pieces! This would become the first CAD sofware I would ever use. I designed another LEGO car with this app. This car would have a two - speed transmission.
Entering High School I was looking for new opportunities to continue my passion for building new things. I found out about of a couple of my peers looking to start a robotics team and I jumped at the opportunity. I became one of the founding members of FRC team #8567. Throughout highschool I helped grow this team from just our starting six to over fifty members. We build a new robot every year and also spend our resources impacting and improving our community through numerous projects.
I am currently attending college at Rochester Institute of Technology. One of the main reasons I decided to come to RIT is for its expansive and accessible makerspace: the SHED. Through it, I have free and unrestricted access to dozens of industrial grade tools. These tools are at my disposal to use for personal projects and Many of the projects on this site utilize them!
